Design Services
Thank you once again for the opportunity of assisting you with the designing and selection of your sound/video/lighting systems. Our firm specializes in church sound/video/lighting systems. Our personnel are all actively involved in church ministry and are familiar with the special requirements associated with church sound/video/lighting systems.

Program Definition
Musicworks is to provide the following services in regards to defining the church's current, as well as future, program needs:
- Attend a Sunday worship service to get an initial feel for the church's worship style.
- Musicworks will take the church's personnel on a tour of systems to generate ideas.
- Provide the church's music personnel/media operators with a list of questions regarding current, as well as future, worship needs.
- After collecting input from church personnel, Musicworks will provide initial concept one-line diagrams with functional descriptions and estimated equipment/installation costs.
- Meet with the church's personnel to discuss initial design and provide necessary revisions.
Acoustical Consultation
Musicworks is to provide the following services in regards to the acoustical needs of the sanctuary:
- Meet with the church leadership to review existing and planned church ministry as it relates to the acoustic environment.
- Discuss integration of acoustical design elements into room design for aesthetically-pleasing results.
- Build computerized model of each room to analyze design for compliance with design criteria.
- Establish reverberation times and time ratio which would provide best possible acoustics for both worship and music. These times must also meet established criteria of excellent speech intelligibility.
- Work with the church leadership to alter interior surfaces and finishes, if necessary, to meet the desired reverberation time and ratios in the spaces.
- Assist in designing the platform area wall and ceiling surfaces.
- Recommend and assist in the design of treatments and/or adjustments to room surfaces which will prevent dead room and echoing.
- Assist in developing wall treatments for the congregational area of the sanctuary.
- Coordinate acoustical design elements with sound, video, & lighting systems design elements to optimize performance and minimize competing space conflicts.
Sound Reinforcement
Musicworks is to provide the following services in regards to the audio system needs of the sanctuary:
- Meet with church leadership, music leadership, and sound operators to discuss requirements for sound system.
- Work with church leadership, music ministry, and sound operators to develop performance criteria and budget limitations for each of the sound systems which are desired.
- Work with the church leadership to integrate the design of the speaker systems, control equipment and other equipment into the building design. The design of the speaker systems and speaker enclosures as shall consider the differing room configurations. Prepare computer aided models to optimize the speaker system design and enclosures.
- Design loudspeaker system and support electronics to the criteria established.
- Prepare drawings for audio systems coordinating the audio system elements with the design of the building.
- Provide electrical requirements to project electrical engineer for inclusion into load demand calculations.
Multi-Media/Image Magnification
Musicworks is to provide the following services in regards to the video system needs of the sanctuary:
- Meet with church leadership, music leadership, and video operators to discuss requirements for the video system.
- Work with church leadership, music ministry, and video operators to develop performance criteria and budget limitations for each of the video systems which are desired.
- Work with the church leadership to optimize screen size and location to provide the best viewing angles and minimize lighting conflicts in the worship space.
- Design video system and support electronics to the criteria established.
- Provide electrical requirements to project electrical engineer for inclusion into load demand calculations.
Theatrical Lighting Systems Design & Interior Lighting Coordination
Musicworks is to provide the following services in regards to the theatrical lighting system needs of the sanctuary:
- Meet with church leadership, music leadership, and lighting operators to discuss requirements for the lighting system.
- Work with church leadership, music ministry, and lighting operators to develop performance criteria and budget limitations for each of the lighting systems which are desired.
- Design the theatrical lighting system and support electronics to the criteria established.
- Provide electrical requirements to project electrical engineer for inclusion into load demand calculations.
- Work with the electrician to ensure that the interior lighting is controlled by the lighting operators in the control booth.
Construction Administration
- Meet with electrician on-site to discuss conceptually what conduits will be necessary for the media systems.
- Meet with electrician on-site to inspect conduit installation before slab is poured.
- Meet with the general contractor on-site to coordinate speaker cloud designs, control booth designs, rear projection room designs, equipment rack location designs, etc.
- Attend any necessary construction meetings.
